When a little extra help is required in the short term or if you just need a break, NCCCA’s respite care can offer the support you need. Health and wellbeing are just as important for carers and families as it is for the people they care for. That’s why we provide a range of respite options, all delivering the high-quality care and the welcoming atmosphere that NCCCA is known for.

What is respite care?

Respite care is short-term or temporary care for people away from their regular carer or support network. It gives both the individual and their carer a chance to spend time independently from each other and recharge. Respite care can be arranged for a minimum of two weeks.

A respite stay at NCCCA offers clinical support, accommodation, freshly prepared meals, and varied leisure and lifestyle programs. Respite Care is the perfect option if you require a short term stay or if you’d like to experience life at one of our homes, before deciding on a permanent move. If a respite stay isn’t what you are after, we can also provide:

  • In Home Respite Support
Our home care service can cater for seniors in their homes, while giving their carers a few hours of respite. Our experienced Community Coordinators will individually tailor a program to suit your budget and needs, from help around the home, including cleaning and shopping, to assisted outings and in-home nursing care.
  • Day Centre Programs
Our purpose-built day centre, within our Community Support Centre, offer a range of activities. Our centre feature programs designed to stimulate, motivate and encourage social interaction among older people in the community. Every session has refreshments and transport to and from the centre is also available. Our day centre is a fantastic option for carers and seniors looking for regular or occasional respite care for a few hours a week.
