Community Transport

NCCCA Community Transport is a service to people of ALL ages and may be available to you if you meet the eligibility criteria.

This includes:

  • Seniors and pensioners, those with accessibility needs or limited mobility, illness, living with a disability, those who have limited access to private transport or find it difficult accessing ordinary transport.

What we do

Our Community Transport service is especially designed to help you with everyday access to the things you need such as getting to medical and specialist appointments, participating in social and recreational activities, attending community events, to do your shopping and errands, visiting friends or family and other places of interest.

Services we offer:

  • Door to door transport to and from your home and destination
  • Individual and Group travel
  • Regular transport to shopping facilities and assistance with your shopping bags to your home
  • Full day and short-day social group trips to a variety of destinations, scenic drives, special events and activities.
  • Opportunities for regional transport access and connecting with other transport services.

Shopping Access

Need to get to the shops, but it’s become a little tricky these days?

Let our driver take the worry out of getting a lift into town for your weekly shopping needs or enquire about our monthly shopping bus trip to other major retail shopping centres.

On the second Wednesday of each month, we operate a Shopping Bus trip to major retail centres alternating between Green Hills, Lake Haven & Tuggerah, and is available to people of ALL ages.

 

 

Social Outings and Group Activities

Discover amazing places, events and experiences, meet new people, and create friendships.

A calendar of full day and short-day social group trips is pre-planned each month to a variety of destinations, special events, scenic drives, and activities.

How it works

Booking your trip can be made by contacting our office on (02) 4993 3100 (Community Services – Transport) and our team will discuss the details of your journey and provide you with available options.

  • We are a door-to-door service
  • Our team of trained drivers and volunteers will collect you from your home or chosen location and can assist you to and from the vehicle at your request, or with any mobility equipment and belongings.
  • We use a range of vehicles that are equipped to suit people with specific mobility needs or are modified for transporting wheelchairs.
  • Bookings are scheduled 2 days in advance, contacting us as soon as you have an appointment will help to ensure your transport is available on the day.

What does it cost?

The cost for our transport service varies depending on your pick-up and drop-off location, the type of service you are accessing, how often you use the service and our available resources.

The service may be accessed if you are registered through My Aged Care for CHSP, Support at Home (SaH), or are an NDIS recipient – we will work with you to develop an affordable transport plan to meet your individual needs to keep you engaged in your activities and connected to the community.

If you are experiencing financial hardship or feel you cannot afford the service, please advise one our team so we can work with you to ensure you still get the services you need.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are elderly and have limited mobility
  • Have a disability or health issues which limit your mobility
  • Have language challenges that limit your access to transport
  • Live in an area with little or no public transport and don’t have access to private transport
  • Face other significant barriers to accessing ordinary transport

If you are aged 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People), contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 for an eligibility assessment.

Community transport recognises indigenous, CALD communities and those living in rural or remote areas, financially or socially.

 

 

I still have a licence and can drive myself…

That’s ok too.

However, from time to time or depending on the destination, you may need assistance travelling to an important medical appointment, accessing essential services or feel uncomfortable driving longer distances and may be eligible for temporary transport assistance.

NCCCA Community Transport can get you there!

Our Transport service receives funding from TfNSW for the Community Transport Program and from the Commonwealth Home Support Program.

We are an Authorised Point to Point Transport service provider.

We are COVID Safe.
